Our on-site 40 acres of vineyards, hop yard, culinary gardens, and Niagara College greenhouse, integrate with our Teach­ing Winery, Teaching Brewery, and Teaching Restaurant, Benchmark, to provide students valuable hands-on, farm-to-table experiences.

The Niagara College Brewmaster program offers stu­dents over 500 hours of hands-on training in our on-site craft Teaching Brewery. In our unique, award-winning brewing program, students are grounded in the essen­tials of brewing and learn to be future leaders of the craft beer industry.

Canada’s only commercial Teaching Winery and vine­yards give students in-depth knowledge that sets grad­uates on the road to employment or entrepreneurship. Students of the programs go on to rewarding careers in winemaking, viticulture, winery management, sales, and more.

Benchmark Restaurant showcases food, wine and beer created, prepared and presented by students from the programs at the Canadian Food and Wine Institute. The rotating menu remains local and seasonal, including college-grown, regional and provincial bounties. All of the menu offerings are based on our academic semes­ters, allowing students time to hone these skill sets and attain success at great culinary destinations at home and around the world.

Culinary Innovation and Food Technology is an advanced diploma program that bridges the combination of food and science. Partnership projects with local industries are common, providing students opportunities to work with possible employers and gain hands-on experience.
